First and foremost among such concern is the number of votes that Sen. Aquino will enjoy in Metro Manila areas. As you do know some of the other senatorial candidate of the other parties has had a good shot at winning the election as well and they might be a risk to the future President’s campaign against corruption and maybe against his government. Not to mention the House of Representative that may be also affected by such a campaign. As a keen observer of our political history, if Metro Manila never gives a majority vote to a President, meaning a 51% of the total number of votes, the sitting President has a logical and physical reason to be ousted or be terrorized by an unfriendly opposition. If that is the case, that factor might affect the judgments of the good President in dealing with his future detractors and his allies as well. So his stand to fight corruption maybe compromised. I am suggesting an all out effort to make sure that Sen. Aquino gets the votes in Metro Manila needed to cast away fears of being unseated.
Second concern is regarding the way we should help the President in fighting corruption and defending his government. This advocacy of ours should not stop after the election. We shall continue until the Good Lord call us to join him in His reign. As the saying goes ‘No man is an island.’ Sen. Aquino cannot win the fight all alone. Here I am suggesting that we should organize a group with the task of helping him and be his guiding conscience in deciding a decision with regards to corruption. This group might call for its member to either donate or do a fund raiser to raise a fund that will be given to the Government as an aid in its effort to fight corruption. And this group will organize a rallying force when the good government is threatened.
Third and the last of my concern is our loyalty to the President. I am hoping that we will neither be affected by any bad propaganda to be launched by adversary nor will we be tired of supporting the government that we ourselves dream and hope. This last concern may bring to you a reason to ask yourself if you are indeed a true defender of our nation. And being a true defender means to stay directly focused on the good task that we give ourselves as a covenant to our very own land. Don’t let history judge us for the wrong decisions we take and we make. Let it be the quite witness of how strongly we try to make a change. And let that change be a good one to remember. Our people dreamed for long. And at last the dream now is on the way to becoming a reality.
I am labeling this letter with an Impossible Mission but I am hoping that with people like you the boundary of impossibility will be conquered. This nation of ours has still hope. And you are among those who hold the key to a better Philippines. May God be with us and guide us in this fight.
